A private collection not far from Oxford, is available to view without entry fee and is supported by nearby free two-hour parking. Children with a genuine interest in motorsport and above the age of twelve perhaps, are welcome if accompanied by an adult. There is no social media or other internet presence related to this exhibition and it is intended that this should remain so in respect of the owner, who has been generous enough to share this collection in this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you would like to see up to 100 original artworks, many signed by a relevant luminary (such as the driver) and perhaps 200 or more scale models varying from 1\/43 to 1\/8 scale and everything in between, then feel free to email me at markroakley@outlook.com. I will then send you four attachments with the details and we can arrange a mutually convenient visit time. Visits during the daytime are more straightforward, while it is also possible to visit in an evening and on a Saturday (other commitments permitting), though visits on a Sunday are not possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The artworks and models are presented professionally in a 50 sq m exhibition space (excl walls and ceiling) and include my own work (about 5% of the models on show). The artworks vary in media, from pencil drawings and others in pen and ink, to watercolours and beyond…, acrylics and gouache, oil on canvas and also others on substrates such as Perspex and Aluminium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The models include the very best examples of mass produced competition cars (many signed), hand-built models and scratch builds, many of which are world-class. The emphasis is on Formula One across the decades to the present era, but does include some sports cars, motorbikes and classic cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Usual visitors have included artists, sculptors, authors and journalists, some coming from abroad and spending up to four hours reviewing and enjoying the incredible variety of work on show, nostalgically reminiscing etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The principle motive is one of sharing a lifelong collection, however with exit-strategy in mind for each piece, serious discussion towards a purchase is welcomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visitors have often preferred to be shown around the exhibition and as such have enjoyed ‘a tour’, several of which are available. These include those focussing on the art, or on the models, or a tour in response to items attracting the visitor’s own attention, or that of the tour guide. Browsing without interaction is of course also possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
